RE: Thinking About Renting a Class A

We rented a Class C Tioga Fleetwood. It slept 8. We had 6 adults at one point. Just make sure you get a rig with slides, and make sure you have seat belts for all occupants( that may be a issue). Check out the other post regarding renting, you will learn a lot. Good Luck.

RE: Basement AC

Can anyone with a Winnie Discovery 35A tell me where the basement AC is located? Under the bed, middle of coach, up front? Thanks.

Basement AC

Does anyone have a basement mounted AC unit. The Winnebago Adventurer has the ac in the basement. Any pros or cons. Yes less weight on the roof, but is it noisey? Is it hard to service?

RE: Oh-oh, my MH dream may be evaporating....

As you stated..."rent in the spring"...will be your best bet. DW never camped and so we rented a Class C and off we went. She was nervous about the size and the functioning of all the mechanical parts. I choose an RV Resort for our first trip, then a national park. She had a ball, love the experience. Now we are getting ready to purchase a Class A, possibly with bunks. We have narrowed it down to 2 models. You definatly want DW to enjoy the RV experience before you buy. Good luck.

RE: Golf Ball Question

The home that I grew up in was on a golf course and the "good" golfers' balls would occasionally land on our lawn, some even hitting the house! I had quite a collection. All brands and some even personalized. My golfer friends would help themselves to the container of golf balls that I kept in the garage. One guy went semi pro :C So just enjoy youself. You won't get that upset if you loose a bargan ball!:D

RE: What tip do you have to save us money to keep camping?

Last summer gas was $4.46 in the part of the country we were vacationing. We went on line and checked out travel brochures and mapped out all the places and things we wanted to do. We then followed an order so we were not driving back and forth and visited sites on the way to our next campground. We also stayed where some of the campgrounds had free trolly service to different tourist sites. When our grown kids visited, those were the days we visited other tourist sites that we needed a car.(we did not bring a toad). Even grocery shopping was done when we were on the way to next campground. We were gone for 18 days and only put 720 miles on the MH.

Replace the tires unless you know exactly how old they are, do NOT go by how they look.

RE: Booties to wear when dumping

I am glad I have never see a dirty dump station, but I have a pair of Crocks that I wear around the campsite when I am doing my choires. I just kick them off and leave them under the MH right by the door, so I don't track in any dirt. I also have a small box in the basement which contains gloves, antibacterial soap, spray bleach, paper towels and of course the outside shower to wash off any thing that may need cleaing. I also have light weight wooden decking to stand on so that I am not standing directly on the ground.

RE: winterizing the HOUSE

Unplug unused electrical applicances, TV ,computers, radios etc...clean out the refrig shut off ice maker etc. If you are leaving any vehicles behind, make sure your son starts them once in a while.

RE: Buying real estate at Auction? Good thing or bad?

You are buying "as is" and there is no building inspection, and make sure there are no lien against the properety.

RE: Is anyone out there a real estate agent?

Real Estate laws differ from state to state...so make sure your info is from an agent where the property is located. Good luck.
